Softeners:
 Water softening systems work using "cation exchange". In this principal, the electrically charged ions of hardness minerals (Iron, Calcium, and Magnesium) are exchanged for sodium ions, which effectively reduce the concentration of hardness minerals in your water to insignificant levels.
Decrease Cleaning Time: Soft water prevents bathtub rings and calcium build-up on faucets and fixtures. Softened water eliminates the film and soap scum created by hard water.
Longer Appliance Life and Lower Energy Bills: Hard water can create hard scale deposits on household plumbing equipment, robbing them of efficiency. Soft water is free of this damaging sediment, and helps to reduce repair costs and extend appliance life.
